The Covid-19 pandemic caused huge changes to the education system and had an enormous impact on education workers. In February 2026, there will be a special module of the Covid-19 UK Inquiry focusing on the social impact of the pandemic, with particular attention on key workers outside of the health and social care sectors. This is an opportunity for the voices of education workers to be heard and influence the recommendations made by the Inquiry. UNISON is working with the TUC (Trades Union Congress) to get the views and experiences of workers who worked through the pandemic.
